How do you find out the imitations from genuine.That's a professional secret.Are you interested?
I recollect a practical incident happened in my career.
In 1987,a regular customer bought a Ray-Ban Changeable sunglasses.These particular sunglasses have different names in the market.Some sect says Day&Night.Others calls it Automatic.Some nationals named it Photomatic etc.
That customer who bought a Ray-Ban Changeable sunglasses, returned after 3 days and blaming me that I am a liar.
I cooled him down and asked humbly what's the matter.For what you are blaming me.
What he said was, after buying the Day&Night glasses, he went straight to his room in the night,switched off  the lights closed all the doors, made the room the darkest, and put the Day&Night glasses on to have a night vision. But he could see only black darkness.That's the point.
After hearing his statement it's my turn to catch my stomach to stop laughing.
Then whith the height of patience I explained what's day and night.

About Brands.

In the beginning the spectacle frames were made from leather and wood. That was, say in1300AD. Just imagine wearing a spectacle frame solely made of leather and wood.

To keep the tradition intact The Incredible brand Ray-Bans made a product called Ray ban Leathers. They used to come in Aviator styles. It is an Visual Treat to both, the wearer and onlooker.

In 1980s when we are the agents of Ray ban sunglasses,

It was a treat to look at the Exclusive Ray-Ban showcases

with different colored frames (Gold,Black Chrome(black

metal)and Silver).Then the lenses. Variety of colors like

green dark, changeable, gray changeable , G15,brown,

brown changeable, silver (mercury)coated, so on.

I am talking about Aviators only.

No comparison to that quality. They were absolutely glass

lenses which were toughened.

By the time passes, Market expanded, outlets increased,

dumping of imitations started.

Branded Eye ware

You are very much aware of Branded and Imitations.
When a corporate or mediam sized optical outlet offers you a branded product Sunglass/Frames/lenses whatever, you think for a while.
The branded are expensive above our budget,may not suddenly dicide.
Now the question is how to know if they are genuine branded or not?
Very simple.
The clues Iam givng are very useful.

the "I" to "Eye"

Suppose I ask you What's the easiest thing on the earth.

You may say “Advice”

Good guess work. A fair answer. May I say, along with changing life style the answer too took a deviation. Got me?

Now a days the effortless thing on earth is using the syllable/letter “I”.

You begin observing a little to large time pass discussion between you and a friend/relatives/colleague/girl / boy friend, so for 10 minutes, just note how many times the letter “I” is used by either of you.

You will wonder with your findings.

Say, if you say “I visited that place.....”the other voice says, “oh I too did.

2. Last night i didn't have a good night sleep.

Whaaaaat : look pal I just forgot to sleep coz i am not getting full sleep. for years

as it goes on continuation with out any end.

Just Use the word “Eye”

by doing so,you will be aware of The Eye The incredible organ

so change the “I” to “Eye”and your eye will be ultimately fit.

The other side of the eye-ware

What on earth it has to do with the fallen hammer and red glue tape of your frame, with little patience.

Yes i am coming to the point, The hammer fell on my glasses.

Thanks to the almighty as there is no serious damage but one leg of the frame broken. Then I took an electrical insulation red adhesive strip and somehow managed to make as one piece and using them.

Then what about the other side?I asked.

Look, one side red and other side black not looking nice, so I broke other side too and joined with the tape. Now you see It's looking uniform,Isn't It?

Guess what will be my reaction,He is a customer, My Boss policy is customer is always right. Followed,following now too.

When I was working in a foreign country other than my home country India as an Optometrist and sales coordinator for a reputed optical showroom, one busy evening a regular customer, visited our showroom, entered into my office. After exchanging formal greetings,I asked the routine stock stuff, yes what can I do for you.

He says, I want to get my eyes tested and take a pair of glasses.

Oh welcome, but tell me, the re-dish glue tape you winded to the temples (side legs)to both sides of your existing frame, what is the matter?.It's an informal talk.

He started narrating. The other day when I was on duty the hammer in my hand fell down.

You may raise another question, How can the above properties applies to me as I wear spectacles.
There are spectacle lenses that shows your eyes more clearly
than without spectacles.
As I mentioned above, 70% of Eye is computer Software. It can be upgraded, added new software.

Like Multi coated lenses,Transitions multi coat,etc.

You probably know that the technology in Optical Accessories,like spectacle frames,lenses,Contact lenses,shades is raised to unbelievable levels.
